Lorraine Ovenstone

Lead Property Manager

For the past 18 years, Lorraine has worked in marketing roles in a variety of industries, including marine, hospitality, healthcare, education, and financial services.

After having her two children, she has decided to embark on a new career path and has many transferable skills to bring to Chapmans, such as good communication, commercial awareness, good organisation, confidence, enthusiasm, and a hands-on team player.

Being a landlord herself, and a tenant in the past, she has a good knowledge of the industry and knows how important it is to be able to trust the company managing your property.  Chapmans’ ethos and values ring true to those that she herself would look for in a letting agency.

Lorraine is friendly and has a proven track record for first-class client satisfaction, which makes her an ideal team member at Chapmans.  As well as working towards her property management qualifications, Lorraine supports the property managers with;

  • Preparing new properties for let
  • Assisting with check-ins and outs
  • Preparing tenants for property inspections and writing reports for landlords
  • Ensuring safety certificates and annual maintenance checks are up to date
  • Meeting and showing prospective tenants around properties
  • Uploading virtual tours to the company’s social media platforms and updating the YouTube channel

Lorraine is genuine, friendly, and adaptable, works exceedingly well under pressure and can multitask within tight deadlines.  She is looking forward to acquiring new knowledge, skills and developing her career in a forward-thinking and well-established company.

On a Personal Note…

My Favourite Place in Edinburgh – I grew up in Corstorphine and loved playing in the woods and having sausage sizzles on Corstorphine Hill, the views from there are great and it is a firm favourite with our family.

Favourite Holiday – My honeymoon to New Zealand was amazing, my Husband and I hired a campervan and spent a month travelling around the north and south islands.  We did so many cool things, visiting vineyards, thermal springs, the Fiordlands and landing on a glacier in a plane.  It was lovely to learn all about the Maori culture, sample the Pacific cuisine and drink all that amazing wine!

Favourite Food – All things spicy and every type of cheese imaginable.

Favourite Film – Labyrinth, it sparked my love for David Bowie!

Favourite things to do in my spare time – As well as walking my dog and running around after my children, I like to chill out with a good book or doing a bit of yoga. I enjoy socialising with my friends and family and also volunteer with a charity as a befriender offering support to parents and children.
